June 1, 2011 - Monroe "Joe" Velguth (1923-2009) was a C-47 copilot assigned to the 440th Troop Carrier Group during World War II. He flew supply missions to Patton's Third Army in France and Germany and transported wounded G.I.'s back to Allied hospitals.
