Midwing Special - It Used to Be a What?
Believe it or not, this airplane used to be a Super Cub. Ben Anderson, EAA 1032615, bought the one-of-a-kind Midwing Special from air show pilot Ned Surratt about three years ago, and spent a couple of years restoring it before bringing it to #OSH17.

Memphis Belle Unveiling
Recently EAA staff attended the opening of the B-17F Memphis Belle exhibit, which honored the first heavy bomber aircraft and crew to complete 25 missions during WWII. It was acquired by the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in 2005.
NASA Flight Director Paul Dye
Paul Dye was NASA's lead flight director for 24 shuttle missions from 1993 to 2013 at the Johnson Space Center. Paul's homebuilding roots, including the completed construction of an RV-8, launched him into being editor in chief of Kitplanes magazine.
